Lifespan Development was taught as a hybrid course at MSC for the first time in Fall, 2007.  Four sections  were taught using a mixture of classroom and online techniques.  Retention and grades of those sections were compared to sections taught traditionally in the previous fall semester.  Student reaction to the hybrid experience was also measured.

Paradoxically, online students in a largely text-based world will lament the focus on writing.  Particularly in disciplines other than composition, students are reluctant to focus time and attention to writing well.  There are strategies institutions can integrate into their programs to explain the role of writing and improve student performance.
